CyberCenter

The CyberCenter, generously funded by the David Bohnett Foundation, provides Utah Pride Center patrons with increased access to computers and the internet. In early 2006 the David Bohnett Foundation, a Los Angeles based foundation dedicated to improving society through social activism, recently donated eight IBM workstations and a network printer to upgrade the Center.

Featuring four new computers and a network printer, the Center Space CyberCenter helps bridge the 'digital divide' by giving access to technologies and resources to those that may not have them. Our Youth Activity Center is also equipped with four new computers to enable access to the internet and to provide software training in a comfortable, informal space for young people.

David Bohnett Foundation

The David Bohnett Foundation was founded by David Bohnett who in 1994 started GeoCities, an internet-based media and e-commerce company, that was later acquired by Yahoo! in 1999.Mr. Bohnett, a gay man, is determined to improve our society through social activism.

DBFdnlogo_plain.gifRecognizing the importance of the internet to create that change, he wants to ensure that the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities are connected and using the immense potential of the web. Mr. Bohnett believs that no one should be left behind, particularly the older members of our community, and that everyone should have the chance to learn and build technological skills in an environment that is safe, affirming, and non-threatening.
