He insinuates himself into Dickie's world and soon finds that his passion for a lifestyle of wealth and sophistication transcends moral compunction. Tom will become Dickie Greenleaf--at all costs.

May 2010:  The Other Side of Paradise - Staceyann Chin

An affecting memoir by Jamaican performance artist, Staceyann Chin. Chin tells us about her childhood in Jamaica, growing up with her brother under the care of her God-fearing illiterate grandmother, and coming out as a lesbian.

June 2010: Foxfire: Confessions of a Girl Gang - Joyce Carol Oates

Set in the 1950s, Foxfire: Confessions of a Girl Gang is a deftly crafted, highly imaginative novel about a girl gang called Foxfire and its leader, Legs Sadovsky. Legs is many things: a female Robin Hood, a Marxist revolutionary, a highly intelligent naif, an incredibly bold, indestructible heroine. The forces that gave rise to Foxfire and the bonds that kept it together raise many interesting questions about gender, social status, and sexuality.

Lockdown Health and Fitness, led by Darrin Cottle, is offering a January boot camp guaranteed to whip you into shape! The five week course, which will be held on the Utah Pride Center campus, is a fun and engaging path to wellness in a group fitness environment.

LIFE IS GRAND IN GENDERLAND! 

 Salt Lake's premier gender-bending social night is being offered specifically for trans youth (ages 14-22) of all identities.  This is a brand new space for those of us who find typical gender boxes too restrictive.  Come hang out, make friends, and get info on all kinds of trans topics.  See you next Tuesday!
