Position description: Graphic Design Intern
Reports to: Director of Development and Marketing
Unpaid Internship
10-15 hrs/week

Primary Responsibilities include assisting with the production of:

  • Posters
  • Flyers
  • Logos
  • Tickets
  • Pamphlets
  • Event programs
  • Booklets
  • Signage
  • Newsletters
  • Other promotional materials

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Illustrator)
  • Understanding of the LGBTQ community
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Experience working with professional printers
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Personal laptop with design programs required

Position description:                   Guardians Of Transgender Youth Group
Reports to:
                                   Director of Youth Programs
Term:
                                           Ongoing
Compensation
:                            $25/group

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitates bi-weekly psycho-educational/support group for families with transgender youth
  • Develops community partnerships with other professionals serving transgender clients
  • Facilitates group process by ensuring every group member has an opportunity to share thoughts and feelings
  • Ensures group environment remains safe and confidential for group members
  • Maintains confidentiality as a group rule and models group value of respecting privacy and needs of individual group members
  • Records weekly group notes, which includes group attendance and demographics
  • Creates and maintains up to date group participant contact list
  • Attends monthly Utah Pride Center group facilitator meeting
  • Participates in quarterly group evaluations
  • Mentors and co-facilitates with MSW practicum students
  • Works with youth program staff and other group facilitators in providing services to transgender youth and their families
  • Has knowledge of transgender youth and impact on family
  • Keeps informed on transgender community and research
  • Provides resources and referrals for families with transgender youth

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional
  • Group facilitation experience
  • Broad understanding of transgender identities and gender variance
  • Awareness of own cultural identity, the identities of members of diverse communities and social, political and economic factors that affect diverse communities
  • Capable of gaining insight into personal biases and challenging oneself to overcome them for the purpose of effectively serving diverse clients
  • Gender variant people are encouraged to apply
  • People of color are encouraged to apply
  • Spanish speaking a plus
